My first computer was a Sinclair ZX-81 with 1 Kb of RAM, "permanent" storage was audio cassette tape. I still have it.

Upgraded to a Sinclair Spectrum with 48 Kb of RAM.

Good times.

Now my iPhone routinely downloads 700Mb for one silly shopping or banking app. 🤦‍♂️

this is so interesting and exactly what I want to do, but as a non-coder, how does one go about personal computing 2.0?

i believe that the ‘impersonality’ of today’s personal computing really needs a revolution in the sense that we have to see if the machine is serving us, or the other way around, and reorient if its the latter. unfortunately, today’s systems incentivize the wrong end of the stick
